Platelets are very small cells found on your blood that play a large role in stopping you from bleeding out when you get a cut.  They clump together to form a clot, which ultimately saves your life every time it happens.  But they don't stop there - they also play a huge role in the healing cascade, releasing chemical messengers called Growth Factors and recruiting other cell types to the site of injury to begin the process of healing a repair.  This is where the magic happens, becasue the repaired tissue is better than before the injury.
